Annual Meeting

College of Marin – Center for Student Success

January 21, 2026

Call to Order/Welcome: The meeting was called to order by Co-Presidents Jeannie Perry and Denise Olson at 10:02 am.

Presentation and Vote: Slate of Officers and Chairs: Bitsa Freeman, Nominations Chair

The Motion to approve this slate of officers and chairs was approved:

Co-Presidents – Denise Olson and Jeannie Perry

Vice President, Grants – Kasi Campbell

Secretary – Ann Becker

Community Service Chair – Julie Reischman

Membership Chair – Daly Schreck

Finance Chair/Treasurer – Alison Carbone

Nomination Chair – Bitsa Freeman

Luncheon Chair – Jeannie Perry

Website Chair – Michelle McKechnie

Annual Cocktail Party Chair – Victoria Dade

Financial Report: Alison Carbone, Treasurer and Finance Chair

We have a Reserve of $6,700. Dues for active members were increased to $100 to c over website expenses. In 2025, we made grants totaling $12,000 to two organizations: Karma Club and RISE Scholars. This large amount was made possible by generous donations to the Angel Fund. Members may now pay dues through the website, or by check or Paypal.

Presentation and Vote: Proposed Grantees – Vanessa McKinley, VP Grants

Vanessa described the four grant nominees:

                  Drawbridge (Peggy Keon)

                  Karma Club (Alison Carbone)

                  Trips for Kids Bay Area (Ann Becker)

                  Youth Transforming Justice (Helen Wiens)

Members completed confidential ballots, voting for up to two nominees. Results of the vote and amount to be granted will be announced at the Annual New Member Luncheon.

New Member Nominations and Vote – Daly Schreck, Membership Chair and Sponsors

The Motion to approve these 9 new members was approved.

Introduction to the new Woodland Sponsors website: Michelle McKechnie, Website Chair

Michelle encouraged all to log in to www.woodlandsponsors.com/active-dues to pay dues, set up an account, contribute to the Angel Fund, RSVP and pay for the Luncheon and other events, access the Roster, and view the new form for nominating new members.

Annual New Members Luncheon: Jeannie Perry, Luncheon Chair

The 2026 Annual New Member Luncheon will be held on Friday February 27 at 11:30 am at the Key Room, Homeward Bound. You may register and pay on the new website.

Guest Speaker: Jonathon Eldridge, Ed.D., Superintendent/President, College of Marin.

Meeting Adjourned: The business meeting was adjourned by Co-Presidents Jeannie Perry and Denise Olson at 12:00 pm.

Tour of the Center for Student Success: President Eldridge took interested members on a tour of the new building, pointing out all the ways the community can benefit from it.
