OUR MISSION
To support students in grades K-8 at the Hamilton School in Novato
What is the organization's general Purpose?
RISE Scholars was founded in 2014 in Novato.
The goal of RISE is to help each student reach their personal and academic potential through a variety of enrichment programs.
Interventional Tutoring: math and reading tutoring one-on-one with volunteers, with the aim to bring struggling students to grade level.
PROGRAMS:
Athletics: Supports lunch-time and after-school sports for all three trimesters
Mentoring: Weekly mentoring builds social, emotional development, and confidence by giving the gift of being a positive, stable adult in a child’s life.
Chess: During and after school. Chess builds a sense of community and belonging and teaches analytical and life skills. The team placed 4th in Nationals (out of 52 teams)and had an individual National Champion.
Math Academy: Tutoring for 5-8th graders who seek extra help or are looking for an extra boost.
Summer Hawks Camp: Offers 5 weeks of free academic and recreational fun to combat “summer slide”.
Summer Bridge: A summer program for graduating 8th graders to get extra support for high school.
